Geneva Kowalski, NCARB, LEED AP, CPHT is a principal and the majority owner of Studio K2 and an award-winning architect who’s also the leader of Women in Design (WiD) Denver, serving as its executive chair. Geneva shares firm leadership responsibilities with its founder, Kevin Koernig. She’s also a member of Denver’s Public Art Committee. Geneva received a Master of Architecture and a Master of Urban Design from UCD Denver.
Kevin Koernig, AIA, LEED AP has nearly 40 years of experience in architecture. Kevin specializes in historic and adaptive re-use projects, multi-family and senior living, retail/mixed-use and design for both cannabis grow and retail operations across the county. Kevin believes that architecture should be enjoyed by all involved in a project. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Caresa Atencio is an architectural designer and project manager for Studio K2, supporting a broad range of projects at the firm. Caresa’s pride in her work shows through in everything she does! She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Frank Laborde joined Studio K2 last year as an architectural designer and has quickly become an invaluable asset to the firm and its clients. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Frank has experience in a broad range of project types including commercial, residential, and governmental.
Paola Larios is a project manager and architectural designer at Studio K2. She joined the firm two years ago and has quickly become the go-to resource for design technology and other firm-wide practice and standards development. Paola earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Colorado Denver.
Tucker Saunders joined Studio K2 last year as an architectural designer. His professional experience includes several years working in the HVAC trades and he brings this direct knowledge of systems to benefit coordination efforts on SK2’s projects. Tucker holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver.
